ABOUT US

What makes our world so colorful? Diversity.
Whether it is tall plants or mini flowers, fierce mammals or hidden birds, ancient architectures or modern structures, humans with long hair or short tempers, we all try to fit in.
But do we have to? We are all coexisting on our beautiful blue marble, that makes us naturally united; so why not celebrate our own individuality.

I have been inspired by simply looking around. Living in Los Angeles, the housing is very hectic. On a same block, you could see a spanish inspired house design, a very modern mansion and an english cottage. They do not match, but somehow blend seamlessly by standing on their own.
Simultaneously, the city holds a beautiful assortment of cultures and population, each bearing their unique aesthetic.
Fashion has always been a passion of mine and I have found that shopping for outfits repeatedly labeled me as what their style represented. But I didn’t want to be labeled.
So I decided to create a zone where you can be free to be yourself and mix and match styles with confidence, without having it labeled as a specific trend. Because oftentimes, one doesn’t feel the same everyday. Some days, you feel confident and want to show off some curves, some days you want to embrace your masculine side and wear cosy looser fits. Some days, you might want to mix both, and why not? Who makes the rules?
In the Blue District, you make the rules. You are your own trend, your own voice, your own vision.
Because at the end, we will all coexist together, so why not make your own statement.

A painless statement. It was crucial to me to be eco-conscious in every step of the clothing development. From design execution in the least polluted conditions to having compostable packaging, I needed to make sure, I wouldn’t be harmful to our planet. That’s why Blue District clothing line will never use any animals in the making of their garments or footwear. Because here, we like our creatures living by us and not dead on us. We proudly use faux fur, vegan leather, vegan suede, faux sheepskin, faux silk and faux shearling. In the Blue District, we all coexist without harming each other.

I also believe we can embrace our diversity and dress fearlessly without breaking the bank. It is important to me to deliver a high quality, cruelty-free clothing line at an affordable price.
I want to welcome you to the Blue District, where you will write your own story, spread your own magical powers and be your own brand.

Now for a little story:

Inspired by this popular Kenyan Tale, we have chosen the Hummingbird as Blue District's emblem.

One day a terrible fire broke out in a forest - a huge woodlands was suddenly engulfed by a raging wild fire. Frightened, all the animals fled their homes and ran out of the forest. As they came to the edge of a stream they stopped to watch the fire and they were feeling very discouraged and powerless. They were all bemoaning the destruction of their homes. Every one of them thought there was nothing they could do about the fire, except for one little hummingbird. This particular hummingbird decided it would do something. It swooped into the stream and picked up a few drops of water and went into the forest and put them on the fire. Then it went back to the stream and did it again, and it kept going back, again and again and again. All the other animals watched in disbelief; some tried to discourage the hummingbird with comments like, "Don't bother, it is too much, you are too little, your wings will burn, your beak is too tiny, it’s only a drop, you can't put out this fire." And as the animals stood around disparaging the little bird’s efforts, the bird noticed how hopeless and forlorn they looked. Then one of the animals shouted out and challenged the hummingbird in a mocking voice, "What do you think you are doing?" And the hummingbird, without wasting time or losing a beat, looked back and said, "I am doing what I can."

Because in our choices, we are doing :" What we can".
This hummingbird logo will now be added to every new garment made as a proof of authenticity.
